Get ready to immerse yourself in a day full of lively and colourful festivities celebrating the rich heritage of folk dancing, music and folklore. The main attraction of the event is our towering 10′ tall giant Jack in the Green, accompanied by his troupe of talented musicians known as The Ganderflankers, some wild beasts, and his partner Jill in The Green – a rare sight you won’t find anywhere else in the UK!
This is an all-day concert, and the best part? It’s completely free! There will be a variety of entertainment to keep you engaged throughout the day, with about 35 dance groups, folk music concerts, choral and classics concerts, an artisan market, pagan arts and crafts, street performers, a children’s fun zone with a small fun fair, and half a dozen busking spots.
Live music sessions will also be taking place in several town centre pubs, so you can grab a drink and enjoy the sounds of talented musicians. For those who want to make a weekend of it, there will be a pop-up festival camping and caravan site available.
Don’t miss out on this unique and unforgettable experience, where you can let loose and enjoy the best of folk traditions in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
